Kakopetria Village Square, Nicosia, CyprusKakopetria is located at an altitude of 670 m southwest of Lefkosia, the capital of Cyprus. It is a relatively large community with 1300 permanent residents, built at the foothills of Troodos amidst dense vegetation between the banks of the Karkotis and Garyllis rivers. The two rivers meet in the center of the village creating the Klarios river.
