This is not a film about "successful success." This is a film about the choice that each of us makes in the silence of our own head. We are used to the gloss of biographies where heroes briskly climb the career ladder, knowing no doubts. Director Alexey Sabelsky breaks this template. In his new, frankly confessional film "I Am Not Vadim, I Am Alexey," he removes the mask of public persona and shows the backstage of his own life — real, without embellishment, with the taste of provincial dust and urban melancholy. Alexey is a figure well known in the independent documentary scene. His previous works, such as the film "Demotion" (created together with Nikolai Zakharov), already explored the nerve of the Russian provinces, asking an uncomfortable question: can you enjoy life outside the Garden Ring? In that project, he sought heroes among ordinary people — pie vendors, photographers, brewers — those who did not flee to the capital but stayed to build a life "on the ground." Now it is time to take the camera off those around him and turn it on himself. What is this film about? "I Am Not Vadim, I Am Alexey" is a story of the collision of dream and reality. Why "Vadim"? We are in for a journey deep into oneself through the prism of everyday life. The director speaks frankly about money (or rather, the lack of it), about creative burnout, about the fragility of relationships, and about how to preserve dignity when your plans shatter against the concrete wall of daily life. This is a diary film built on awkward pauses, chance encounters, and inner monologue. What will happen at the screening? This is not just a film showing. This is a dialogue. After the viewing, Alexey Sabelsky will come out to the audience not as a director from on high, but as an interlocutor, yesterday's stranger. The event will turn into an open laboratory where we will break down: The theme of choice m
